'Stage set for Dance 100% season'

Vodacom Tanzania public relations manager, Matina Nkurlu said the firm is aware of the fact that music and sports can provide employment to the youth and that is why the telecom company has once again decided to sponsor the Dance 100 competitions.
He said Vodacom is of the view that the issue of addressing unemployment amongst the youth is not only the responsibility of the government but also other stakeholders including private organisations hence that is why the firm has always been on the forefront to sponsor events that give the youth a prospect of getting employment.
“Vodacom believes that the youth have the potential to achieve quite a lot in various sectors once they are empowered, therefore we are supporting these competitions believing that the talented youth who will participate will have a chance to market and eventually be able to employ themselves through arts,” said Nkurlu.

The official further urged the youth especially young energetic girls to show up and participate in the competition, saying it is a good opportunity for those who are into dancing.
Brenda Kileo, ‘Dance 100%’ coordinator from EATV said this year’s dance competitions are being sponsored by the mobile telephone service provider as the main sponsor and Coca Cola as the official competition drink for Dance 100% (2016).
She said the competitions will run for three months will be held in various grounds beginning with Leaders Club grounds Kindondoni followed by other auditions on the July 23rd and 30th (2016).
Kileo called on dance groups to show up and register to participate in the competitions. She also called on Dar es Salaam residents to show up at respective grounds where the competitions will be held and watch primary audition competitions live free of charge without any entrance fee.
“This is the fifth year that EATV is preparing these dance competitions and the fourth year under the sponsorship of Vodacom, and every year these competitions keep getting better, popular and attract more youths across the country to participate whilst former winners T-Africa, The Chocolatte, Wakali sisi and WD have been pioneers on representing the dance art across East Africa through various dance activities,” she said.
Kileo said the competitions will be held on weekends and will be aired by EATV every Sunday at 7:00pm.
